| Oktoberfest Weekend! The weekend started off as a wet one, with rain falling throughout the day on Friday causing practice to be cancelled. Though the weather would look up for the rest of the weekend. Saturday brought practice and qualifying for Sunday's feature events. The qualifying order was decided by the drivers picking numbers with the lowest numbers lining up first and so on. Katrina pulled a #7, starting her in the third heat on the outside pole. After a well raced heat, Katrina came across the line in the third position, qualifying her to start within the top twelve for the feature event out of the thirty car field. On Sunday, after inverting the top twelve positions, Katrina found herself starting in the fourth position. With the wave of the green flag, Katrina got off to a good start, but with contact between her and the #77 of James Linardy, caused Katrina to quickly fall back within the field. Then things got worse for Katrina when she was involved in a early caution, causing damage to her front bumper. Katrina brought the car to the pits to be worked on and was able to get back on the track before the field raced again. With the wave of the restart, Katrina was able to settle in and felt the car was still good enough to race, so she began to race her way to the front. After a race filled with multiple cautions, and near misses, Katrina was able to race her way to a ninth place finish! Congratulations to Katrina and the whole Canneymotorsports Team for never giving up and for a job well done. Also, a BIG THANK YOU goes out to all of those who helped to get Katrina's car back on the track after the first caution! |
